Dispute Resolution Policy
At Skate Brockville, the wellbeing of our skaters is our top priority. In the event of a violation of the Skater’s Code of Conduct, the following procedures will be followed:
-
First Infraction:
-
The coach will address the issue immediately by:
-
Speaking with the skater(s) involved to establish the facts.
-
Deciding on the appropriate action based on the facts. If the behavior violates the Code of Conduct, the coach will:
-
Explain that continued misconduct will be reported to the club president or a designated board member, as well as to the skater’s parents or guardians.
-
If the infraction is deemed serious, the coach will immediately inform the president and the skater’s parents or guardians, after consulting with other present coaches, including the Director.
-
-
-
-
Second Infraction:
-
The coach will repeat the steps from the first infraction and additionally:
-
Inform the club president of the issue.
-
The president will contact the skater’s parents or guardians to explain the situation.
-
Document the incident, the actions taken, and the required steps for the skater, and send copies to the president or designated board member, as well as to the parents or guardians.
-
A meeting may be requested by the parents or guardians, coaches, or the club to discuss further actions.
-
-
-
Persistent Misconduct:
-
If the behavior continues, further violations occur, or the skater does not follow through on the outlined steps:
-
A meeting will be scheduled with the coach(es), the skater, the skater’s parents, and the club president or designated board member. The meeting will review the Skater’s Code of Conduct, the actions taken so far, and discuss further disciplinary measures.
-
-
-
Appeals:
-
Parents of the skater may appeal disciplinary decisions. The Board Executive will review the appeal, and their decision will be final.
