Our Programs

We offer the following programs for skaters of all ages.

LEARN TO SKATE
PreCanSkate, Canskate | Teen/Adult Learn to Skate

We have a few A learn-to-skate program options;

​

PreCanSkate is a group program for skaters who cannot stand on the ice independently or are not ready to be away from a parent. Skaters must have a parent/guardian on the ice with them and both skaters pay the Skate Canada Insurance fee.

​

CanSkate is a group program for skaters who are ready to be on their own on the ice and can stand independent of help or skating aid.

​

Teen/Adult Learn to Skate offers ice time and private lessons with a coach one on one

​Teen

Our Skate Canada National CanSkate Badge Program teaches fundamental skating skills from stages 1 to 3 in group format and includes 45 minutes of supervised circuits with our NCCP Certified Professional Coaches and program assistants.

​

​CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory. 

​

RISING STARS CANSKATE

This program is only available as 2 days or 3 days per week 

​

Rising Stars is a program for skaters who have completed CanSkate Stage 3 and who wish to pursue figure skating on a recreational or competitive basis.

 

CanSkate stages 4– 6 teach introduction to figure skating in a group format, and includes 2 – 10 minute group lessons, a 15-minute group spins or stroking lesson and 30 minutes of monitored independent practice time each day.

 

A 3 day package is encouraged and recommended for optimal progression.

 

CSA-approved hockey helmets are mandatory for Stages 3 to 5.

Monday Off ice 6:30-6:40, On Ice 6:50-7:20pm Memorial Centre, 

Tuesday Off Ice, 5:10-5:20pm, On Ice 5:30-6:20pm Youth Arena,

Thursday 5:30-6:20pm+ Office until 7pm  Youth Arena

STARSKATE 1&2

​​*A minimum 3 days are recommended for this level. 

​

Figure skating instruction for skaters who have completed CanSkate Stage 6 and wish to pursue figure skating recreationally or competitively.

 

The StarSkate 1& 2 program focuses on skating techniques that will prepare skaters for competitions and tests evaluated by their coaches. Skaters develop their Dance, Skating Skills, Freeskate and Stroking techniques.

​

The skater will be under the supervision of a coach during the session and will receive individual/group lessons each day.

 STARSKATE 3+

A minimum 3 days are required for this level

The StarSkate 3+ program further develops skating techniques that will prepare skaters for competitions and tests evaluated by Skate Canada certified judges. Skaters develop their Dance, Skating Skills, Freeskate and Stroking techniques.

The skater will be under the supervision of a coach during the session and will receive group lessons each day.  

​

This program is offered with private lesson ice time as well as group lesson time or group lesson only.
