Coach Sabrina has highlighted the Star Skaters Program below:

STAR 1-2:

This year Star ½ will skate the following : 

Tuesday - 4:10-4:20pm - Off Ice, 4:30-6:20pm on Ice - Group and Private Lessons .  The Star ½ skaters will share the ice from 5:00-5:50pm with the Rising Stars, however the rest of the time - 4:30-5:00pm and 5:50-6:20pm, they are the only ones on the ice. They will not be sharing the ice with the Star 3 and Higher skaters this year on Tuesday which will make the ice less crowded and make skaters have more access to coaches. 

Thursday - Same as past years - 5:00-6:20pm - On ice, Group and Private Lessons  6:30-7:00pm - Off Ice .  They will be sharing the ice with Rising Stars and Star 3 and Higher 

Skaters will not be skating on Monday this year , instead they will be skating on Saturday Evening.  Feed back was that skating families wanted more than 30 minutes on ice.  Now these skaters will skate on Saturday Evening from  6:40-6:50pm - Off Ice, 7:00-7:50pm - On Ice - Group and Private Lessons . They will share the ice with the Star 3 and Higher skaters for 10 minutes and the rest of the time it is the Star ½ and Rising Stars skaters on the ice

We also listened to your feedback that you want to skate more than 3 days a week 🙂 

We have a Wed afternoon session from 2:30- 3:50pm - On Ice which is group and private lessons and Off ice from 4:00-4:10pm.  This session is an Open Session for any level of StarSkater 

The plan is to have Star 3 Synchro on Tuesday's again this season.  No extra fee for this - it is part of your StarSkate registration fee

We are excited that in addition to myself being present for all these sessions, Coach Andrea Barrington will be with us this season for all these sessions. Coach Jody Guerin will be with us for Thursday's and Saturday's for the whole session for Star ½ and she will also be present on Tuesday's from 5:00pm  to the end ( possibly starting at 4:30pm depending on weather and travel)  .  Anita will also be providing lessons to this group on some of the days. John will be back to volunteer on some of the days as well. We do operate on a Team Coaching Philosophy - All skaters are coached by all Coaches.  You can not pick and choose who to have lessons with. 

We know Wed at 2:30pm may not work for everyone.  However ice time is very challenging to get and we have to take what is available. Anyone who needs a ride , let me know and I'll see what I can arrange for you.  I can pick up kids at BCI as I live very close to there. 

Your registration fee includes all the ice time from August 31- April 24, the yearly Skate Canada Fee , Costume Fee, Fundraising Chocolate fee and all the Group Lesson and Off Ice Coaching from August 31 - April 24. 

You will be invoiced for private lessons each month 

I am asking for all Star ½ skaters to be registered by end of day August 23 so this gives me time to do up the private lesson schedules for all coaches for September. 

 

STAR 3 and HIGHER:

This year, Star 3 and Higher will be skating:

Monday's - Same as before - 3:40-3:50pm - Off Ice, 4:00-5:50pm - On Ice.  Group and Private Lessons, only Star 3 and Higher skaters on this session.  The plan is to have Star 4 Synchro on this day, no additional fee , it is included in your registration fee for StarSkate 

Tuesday's - New - 2:30-4:30pm - On Ice, 4:40-4:50pm - Off Ice.  Only Star 3 and Higher skaters are on this session

Most of the skaters should be able to make the 2:30pm start time as they are out of school at 2:10.  If you are wanting to skate on Tuesday's and you can make a later time to skate but can't be there for 2:30, reach out to me and I'll see what we can arrange 🙂 

Thursday's - Same as before - 4:00-5:00pm - Private Lessons, only group on the ice, 5:00-6:20pm - Group lessons sharing the ice with Rising Stars and Star 1/2, 6:30-7:00pm - Off Ice 

Saturday's - New - as the morning session was not well attended and ice time is more costly at the Memorial than the Youth, the Saturday morning session is now a Saturday Evening session - 5:40-5:50pm - Off Ice, 6:00-7:10pm - On Ice -Mostly private lessons with 10  minute group.  Star 3 and Higher only group on the ice other than sharing the ice for the last ten minutes with Star 1/2/Rising Stars

There is also the option to skate a 5^th day this year! Wednesday afternoon from 2:30-3:50pm - On Ice Group and Private and 4:00-4:10pm - Off Ice. This is an open session for any level of StarSkater. 

Same as Star ½ I know this time won't work for everyone, however we can't just say what time or rink we want to hold our sessions. We have to take what is available. I can pick up skaters at BCI if need be on Wed's as I live close by. 

I will be present for all sessions coaching.  Andrea Barrington will be present for all sessions, Jody Guerin will be joining us for the entire session on Saturday's,  and from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday's .  John will be there volunteering for some sessions.
